Wine. Music. Spring. Let’s go!
We will uncork fifty-plus wines for each of our Marselan festivals this Sunday in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
World Marselan Day, an event I started in 2018, is held each April 27, birthday of the grape’s creator, Paul Truel.
This year, I sourced wine from across China, and a few from abroad, all of them made with this cross of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache. That includes roses and pet-nats; even a “white” Marselan.
Our Beijing and Shanghai festivals are at The Merchants while Shenzhen is represented by wine bar Weeknd and Wine to Asia. Check out this video for the vibe at parties past.
If you are in any of these three cities this weekend and want to join, use the QR code at this link to sign up in Beijing or Shanghai– early-bird tickets are RMB128 for three hours to taste Marselan to your heart’s content. For Shenzhen, use the QR code at this link.
I founded World Marselan Day in 2018 as a nonprofit project to help pair producers and consumers through a grape gaining in popularity in this market, a grape that makes wine both newcomers and aficionados can appreciate, a grape able to express terroir–as people will see when tasting Marselan from over a half-dozen regions.
