Wine to Asia in Shenzhen is the latest Guangdong province trade fair to be postponed due to the COVID-19 situation, with the Interwine show in Guangzhou also announcing it will change dates.
Originally slated for June 8 to June 10, Wine to Asia is now set for August 12 to August 14 at Shenzhen World.
Along with strong presences from top wine producers such as Italy, Chile, Spain and South Africa, Wine to Asia also pushes the envelope by focusing on wine and alcohol trends and niches, including with its Living Wine pavilion focused on natural wine. This year’s slate includes everything from sessions with wines from Brazil and San Marino to a coffee cocktail lounge.
This site had also been helping with three events for the June fair, including Marselan blending and baijiu cocktail master labs plus a master class about Ningxia terroir.
New COVID-19 cases are leading to events being cancelled Guangdong, a situation that will have an extended impact should buyers / attendees from there be unable or unwilling to attend trade fairs elsewhere.
The inaugural Wine to Asia was held last November.
