Good Graces | Malaysian wine and dine in Beijing

This might be the first time!? That we see a Malaysian chef, a Malaysian winemaker and a Malaysian restaurateur team up for a fine dining and wining experience here in China.

A key player is Penang-born Lee Yeanyean, chief winemaker at Shanxi-based Grace Vineyard.

He will join Sarawak-born Jasmine Kho, owner of the southeast Asian restaurant Kakikopi this weekend and host a 20-person lunch featuring a dozen of their country’s comfort foods and five Grace wines. The meal with start with Grace’s Cabernet Sparkling NV and cruise from there.

(Limited to 20 seats, with 3 seats remaining. Rmb 388. RSVP essential.)

Then Lee will join Ipoh-born chef Addison Liew from Brasserie 1893 at Waldorf Astoria for a six-course French dinner, with dishes ranging from tuna to chicken to venison, paired with Chinese wines. This feast will be at HOME Waldorf Astoria.

(Limited to 10 people. Rmb 1388. RSVP essential.)

All proceeds from both events go to the Maovember campaign and 2020 partner, The Library Project. I’ll post recaps, with lots of photos.

If you want to join either event, contact me at ‘beijingboyce’ on Wechat to check on seat availability.
