The winners of the China Wine List of the Year 2014 contest were recently announced, with Shanghai’s Napa Wine Bar & Kitchen and sommelier Edward Kok Seng Lee taking top spot for mainland China and Hong Kong’s L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon and sommeliers Terence Wong and Eric Yau winning for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
The other finalists were Temple Restaurant in Beijing, The Principal in Hong Kong, and Camelia in Four Seasons Pudong, M on the Bund, and Sir Elly’s  in The Peninsula, all in Shanghai.
Now in its second year, the China Wine List of the Year saw twice as many entries and awards in 2014 as in 2013, said Rob Hirst, co-organizer of the event along with Tommy Lam. Other awards included best Chinese wines and spirits by Temple Restaurant in Beijing, best new wine list by Opera Bombana in Beijing, best small wine list by Luccio’s in Shanghai and best by-the-glass list for Tapas Bar in Hong Kong.
