Philip Osenton, who already twice today broke the world record for holding wine glasses in one wine, attempted to up the number in front of a crowd in the Hilton Beijing ballroom at 3:30 PM.  Osenton held 51 glasses in one hand. At glass 52, things got a tad unstable, and a few slipped out. Nevertheless, given that he held 40 and 45 earlier that afternoon, an impressive day for Osenton a.k.a. Awesometon.

Philip Osenton has just broken the world record for holding wine glasses in one hand today in Beijing. Osenton made two attempts, the first, when he held 40 glasses, to break the record of 39 glasses set in 2007 in Spain. A second attempt saw Osenton stack 45 glasses. He will make a third attempt this afternoon at 3 PM in the Hilton Beijing ballroom. The Hilton Beijing is holding its fifteenth annual Food & Wine Experience today, which includes more than 1000 wines as well as snacks and seminars. Now based in Beijing, where is a wine consultant, Osenton previously was head sommelier at the Ritz London and restaurant manager at the Savoy London. I’ll update after this afternoon’s session…
